The installer is not code-signed yet: on Windows SmartScreen may warn you (“More info” → “Run anyway”); on Mac, right-click the app the first time you start it and choose Open.
Questions, answered
Is Fear the Lord really free?
Yes. You can play the whole game for free. An optional Gemstone shop sells cosmetics and convenience items; the focus is on skill and time invested, not on your wallet.
Do I have to download anything?
No. It runs in any modern browser on desktop, tablet and mobile, with touch and controller support. Your hero is saved on the server, so you can continue on any device.
What does permadeath mean here?
When a hero dies, that hero is gone for good. Only a rare Divine Star can revive one. Your account-wide Vault, Relics and heirlooms survive, so a new hero never starts from zero.
How do I get in? Is the Open Beta really open?
Yes, it is an Open Beta. If the button says “Play now”, you can jump in right away as a guest and save your progress later. If it says “Apply for beta”, sign-up still needs an invite for the moment: send the short application and we email you one.
Can I play with friends?
Yes: friends list, parties, guilds of up to 30, a group finder and a mentor system. Dungeons and raids can be done together.
Which languages are supported?
English, Hungarian and German — the whole game, including the server messages.
